Obituary of Daniel Iarusso
Mr. Daniel Iarusso, 79, of Clifton Park, NY, formerly a resident of Hagaman, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at his home.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on January 16, 1940, a son of the late Sebastian A. and Theresa D’Alessandro Iarusso. He was educated in Amsterdam and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School Class of 1958. He enlisted in the US Army and was discharged honorably in 1962. He served with the US Army reserves until 1967.
Mr. Iarusso worked for many years as the Plant Operator at the City of Amsterdam Waste Water Treatment Facility. In his early years he was the owner and operator of the former Baldy’s Tavern in Amsterdam.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and was very active in his children and grandchildren’s lives. He and his wife especially enjoyed the last seven winters spent in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with recurring group of “Snowbirds”.
Dan married Barbara A. Kosiba Iarusso on October 26, 1963. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children, Mike Iarusso and his wife Sue of Fonda, NY, James Iarusso and his fiancé, Gwen Marchione of Ghent, NY and Rebecca Semprivivo and her husband Rick of Clifton Park, NY. Cherished grandchildren, Sebastian Iarusso, Cardell Iarusso, Natasha Larramendy, Carter Iarusso and Alise (Ian) Zink. Two brothers, John Iarusso (Jeanette) of Amsterdam and Anthony Iarusso and his companion Jeanine Farina of Amsterdam. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday November 6, 2019 from 10:00AM to 1:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. The US Army will conduct military honors at 1:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at later date in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY.
