Obituary of John "Tommy" Hinkle Sr.
Mr. John “Tommy” Hinkle Sr., 79, of Mocksville, North Carolina passed away peacefully on August 26, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 12, 1940 to Vernon and Lovina (Lawrence) Hinkle, he attended Fort Plain High School. After school, he took over the family dairy farm on Stone Arabia Road in Fort Plain New York. On October 17, 1959 he was united in marriage to Karan May (Verdock) Hinkle.
He was a lifelong dairy farmer for over 50 years. He was also an avid woodworker and jokester and always gave of himself. He loved spending time with his family and playing golf with his brothers. Tommy deeply loved all of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a animal lover and his dogs were a comfort to him
His loving family includes his wife, Mrs. Karan May Hinkle; his children, Alice (Tom) Sise, Denise (Gerald) Hernigle, John Hinkle Jr., and Vernon (Lisa) Hinkle; his grandchildren, Justin, Billy, Silas, Kainen, Nathan, Nick, Allison, John, Patricia, Charles, Levi, Jeremy, Eric, Dillon, Danielle, and Jacob, as well as several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Vernon Lawrence Hinkle, Patricia Elaine Wilder, and Lawrence Orville Hinkle.
Tommy was predeceased by his parents Lovina and Vernon Hinkle, his sister Shirley Palmer and brother Paul William
Funeral services will be conducted on August 30, 2019 at 1:00PM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St, Fultonville.
Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on August 30, 2019 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home.
