Started in 1991 by six original members, Ed Lansburg and Frank Fredenburg formed a club they named Wilderness Preservation Adventures. In 1992, the club members built a log cabin on a Canadian lake which they licensed with the Canadian Government. This Canadian lake is located in the Labrador area approximately 1,150 miles north of Amsterdam NY and was discovered only after several exploratory trips to other various lakes. To get there, it’s 1000 miles drive north, then 150 miles flight by sea plane, but the Brook Trout fishing is the best anyone could ever experience which makes it worth the trip. Brook trout catches can average between 20-23”, and other fish such as Northern Pike, are caught as large as 40+”. Acting as a fishing guide for many years, Ed Lansburg lived his dream and lived it well fishing at a place where catching record brookies is a daily norm.
