Obituary of Emily Harris McClumpha

      Emily Harris McClumpha , 97, of Palm Beach County, Florida,  passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019  in Hospice Care at Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach Florida.

Emily is the daughter of the late Roland and Bessie Fry Harris and the wife of the late William (Bill) C. McCllumpha.  They were married for 54 years and had a daughter Carol Ann McClumpha who died at birth.

Emily graduated in the Class of 1940 from Wilbur H. Lynch High School and from Mildred Elley Business School in Schenectady, NY.  For over 32 years, she worked as an executive secretary for Mohasco Corporation in Amsterdam, New York and in New York City.  Upon her retirement in 1981, she and Bill moved to Florida.

Emily was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Amsterdam, NY, Living Word Lutheran Church in Lantana, Florida, The Order of the Eastern Star and the Cypress Creek Country Club in Boynton Beach, Florida. 

Emily is survived by her niece, Diane Seymour of Ridgewood, NJ, her nephew Donald Harris of Santa Rosa Beach, FL., two grandnieces and five greatgrandnieces and nephews of Ridgewood, NJ. 

Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY . A private graveside ceremony will be held at a future date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trustbridge Hospice Foundation, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407 (a non-profit organization) or online at www.trustbridgefoundaton.org.
