Obituary of Darlene Beer

Mrs. Darlene Beer, 70, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2019 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, NY with her loving son and daughter-in-law by her side.

Born on August 14, 1948 to Glen and Lillian Simonds of Gloversville, NY Darlene attended local schools before beginning a career in the restaurant industry as a cook. She worked at various restaurants in the Capital District and surrounding areas including Knotty Pine in Rotterdam Junction.

Darlene was united in marriage to Duane W. Beer Sr. on February 4, 1989; they remained lovingly united until his passing.

In addition to her husband Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Glen and Lillian, and brother Glen “Bud” (Joan) Simonds.

She is survived by her son Toby (Robin) Simonds of Amsterdam, brother John (Kathy) Simonds of Pattersonville, and sister Mary Lou (William) Remillard of Rotterdam Junction. She also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren Jake and Kelsey Murphy, as well as her cat Harley.  

A Service of Remembrance will take place on Friday August 9, 2019 at 6p.m. at Betz Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family and friends are invited and may call on Friday August 9, 2019 from 4p.m. to 6p.m. prior to the service.
