Obituary of Marjorie B. Reed
Marjorie B. Reed of Clermont, Florida, formerly of Johnstown, New York, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, peacefully in her sleep.
She was born to the late Augustus and Margaret Bramer, May 7, 1927, in Amsterdam, NY. Marjorie graduated from Wilbur Lynch High School in Amsterdam in 1943. She worked for several years as Parts Manager for K.C. Canary in Johnstown, before retiring and opening her own business of Reed’s Ceramics also of Johnstown, NY.
She married the late Arthur K. Frasier in April of 1944 before he passed in March 1964. She also married the late Leland S. Reed and they lived and operated Reed’s Swiss Farm on Route 29, Johnstown. She was predeceased by Leland in May, 2002. Marjorie had several siblings who predeceased her as well; Caroline (Watson), Howard, Marion (Rugg), Ralph, Donald, Harold, and Helen (Smith).
Marjorie is survived by her four children; Judy (Brian) Bohne of Collins, NY, Jim Frasier, Clermont, FL, Glenn Frasier of Gloversville, NY, and Linda (Michael) Orleanski of Clermont, FL. Additionally she is has four step sons; Willard Reed, Florida, Robert (Sherry) Reed, Texas, Richard Reed (deceased), Florida and James Thomas (Joanne) Reed of Johnstown. She has 6 grandsons and 8 great grandchildren as well as several step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marjorie was a hard working and talented individual who had several interests throughout the years including her grandchildren, an expert ceramicist, sewing, crafting and her church. She was a member of the Perth Bible Church and also attended Adirondack Baptist Church before she moved to Clermont Florida in July, 2016 where she resided in the Clermont Health and Rehabilitation Center until her passing.
Viewing hours will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019, at the Walrath and Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, NY from noon to 2:00 p.m. with funeral services immediately following. The burial will take place at the Pine Grove cemetery in Tribes Hill, NY where she will be laid to rest next to her first husband, Arthur Frasier.
