Obituary of Reyes Tirado

Mrs. Reyes Tirado, 86, of Amsterdam passed away Tuesday July 16, 2019 at Nathan Littauer Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Reyes was born on January 6, 1933 to the late Emelia and Abraham Ortiz of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. She came to the United States at the age of 18 to begin her family, and was united in holy matrimony to Juan Tirado on January 22, 1955, they remained lovingly married until his passing on April 25, 2019. Reyes worked as a nutritional aid for Cornell Cooperative Extension Fulton-Montgomery Counties until her retirement.

Reyes is survived by her daughter Ann (Edwin) Santiago, and three beloved grandchildren; Kyla Santiago, Lamar Santiago, and Cesar Santiago, all of Amsterdam.

She was preceded in death by her parents Abraham and Amelia, husband Juan, sons Juan Tirado Jr, Felix Tirado, Jose “Cheo” Tirado, and Walter “Wally” Tirado.

Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY.  Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery,  Amsterdam, NY .  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to
