To the entire Dygon family,
We are incredibly sad over the news of Steve's passing. My entire collection of childhood memories from the Rockton area through the 70's & 80's is lined with influences from interactions with your family. John although, older than I,spent a lot of time with my Brother Scott, and they got stuck driving their little brothers around when they would have rather just been the cool kids with the cars. Steve and I always shared music stories and talked about the latest albums and album cover art. He had that "rock star" persona and I thought him to be the epitome of "Cool". He would usually end our conversations in those days with "Keep on Rockin' man". Mike and I shared a ride to HVCC during the college years, again more talk about great bands & music. Mike was the first person to turn me on to The Talking Heads. I have talking heads on my playlist now and always remember singing out loud and banging on the dashboard as we cruised down I-890 on our way to school! Paul... well Paul and I were practically inseparable. We spent nearly every day together running that Woodridge, Wilton, Woodrow circle. I remember imaginary rock bands with cardboard instruments, apple wars in Purtell's orchard, sleigh riding Purtell's "back hill", building dams in the creek, Skateboarding races, Building bikes at Zack's house, Hangin' at the Rockton "Y", mornings at Mi-"T"-Fine Donuts, Hot Dogs at Brownies, building forts in the woods (and in your back yard!), and all of the coming of age activities at "Snake Pit" & "The Clearing". Paul, I could go on for hours!!! I remember summers going to the track with Mr. Dygon and stopping at the White House for dinner on the way back home. I have SO many memories of Mrs.Dygon who I believe invented "The Arnie Palmer" drink. She always had iced tea and lemonade ready for us when we came in from outdoors. I LOVE Arnie Palmers to this day and ALWAYS think of you when I drink them! You are such a kind lady, with a mild manner about you. I always felt at peace in your home. I still consider you a "Bonus Mom". During some tumultuous times in my life, I always knew I could knock on the Dygon door, even at 2:00am, in any condition.... and you would offer me a safe place for the night. I love you Mrs.D.
I have deep seeded, meaningful memories from each and every member of your family... even Schatzi.
Amidst this very sad and difficult time, please know that I frequently speak with my brothers about these magical moments growing up with your family. We smile, we laugh, and we reminisce about those irreplaceable days. Our experiences have created indelible impressions in our minds, shaping us into on who we are today.
It is my hope that these thoughts, prayers, and happy memories bring you comfort.
I have prayed to my parents to find Steve in heaven and welcome him home.
May God be with you during this difficult time.

John,Mike,Paul,
Mr.& Mrs. Dygon
and families,
The days of growing up in the Rockton area have long past, however,
the memories of the times with Steve and the Dygon family live on in our
hearts. Whenever my two brothers and I are together, there are seldom times
we do not speak of growing up in the Good Ole Days with the Dygons. Football
in friends back yards, broken windows from foul balls, fishing at the green
bridge, "The usual at the doughnut shop, building forts etc. It was said to have
been the best childhood, with the best group of friends! And it was! I miss those day's and
I will miss Steve. He will be in our thoughts and prayers as well as the rest of the
Dygon family at this difficult time. Please accept our condolences, and may the lord
keep you all close.
Fondly,
Richard & Tamie Adamowski

Dygon family,
You are n my thoughts and prayers. I went to Woodrow Wilson Elementary School and Steven was my classmate. I remember his wide grin and zest for life. I believe it was in sixth grade that our outdoor baseball field, used for Friday afternoon dodgeball games, was covered in mud from heavy rains. Our classmates used their jackets and carried dirt to the field to dry it out for the afternoon dodgeball game. Long story short, we were tardy for school and in big trouble with our parents for ruining our jackets. Steven loved helping solve those dodgeball issues!
I will keep his memory forever in my heart and send warm thoughts your way. So sorry for your loss, Dr. Kelly Ann Sinda-Wilson
