Obituary of George W. English

Mr. George W. English, age 87, of Galway, died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Fulton Center, Gloversville.

He was born August 12, 1931 in Amsterdam, the son of the late Samuel and Annie Thompson English. He served in the US Navy and was later employed as bank teller in Amsterdam for several years. He was a truck driver for the Teamster's Union for many years until his retirement.

George is survived by a sister, Doris English (Steve Locke) of Perth, as well as several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a friend, Charles Gochenour of Galway.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Stanley "Sadie" English who died in 2003; and a brother, Samuel  English, who died two weeks ago.

A Graveside Service will take place at 1:00pm Friday, June 28, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery, Steadwell Ave; Amsterdam.
