Obituary of Gretchen Dillenbeck

Mrs. Gretchen Dillenbeck, 75, of Pavlus Road, Fort Plain, NY died peacefully on Sunday, June 23, 2019.  Born in Holland on June 7, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Bareld and Jantje VanDenberg Jonker.  In 1948, Gretchen along with her family immigrated to the United States and she attended local schools.

On October 23, 1965 she was united in marriage to Earl V. Dillenbeck Sr.  Together for 54 years, they had a wonderful life together.  Gretchen enjoyed being a wife, mother and a grandmother.  She loved woodworking, baking, being outside and in nature.  Most of all, she loved her family and caring for all of them.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband, Earl; three children, Robin Ingalls- Dillenbeck of Rensselaer, NY, Earl V. Dillenbeck Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of St. Johnsville, NY and Steve Dillenbeck and his wife Vanessa of Sharon Springs, NY; seven grandchildren, Samantha Ingalls (Christopher Donlan), Hailey Dillenbeck, Austin Ingalls, Lindsey Dillenbeck, Madison Dillenbeck, Luke Dillenbeck, Lydia Dillenbeck; two great grandchildren Liam and Winston Donlan.

Additional survivors include her five siblings, Sieds Jonker, Henk Jonker, Jan Jonker, Cornelius “CJ” Jonker, Susan Cortright and her husband Roger; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Armetta Dillenbeck and the Dillenbeck Family; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 3 o’clock at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY with the Rev. Bonnie Orth presiding.  Calling hours for relatives and friends will be held Thursday evening from 4 until 7p.m. at the funeral home.
