Obituary of Jose A. Maldonado

Jose A. Maldonado, 66, of Amsterdam, NY passed away on Friday, June 7^th, 2019.

Born on April 12^th, 1953 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he was the son on Porfirio Maldonado and Paula Montes. Jose was educated in Puerto Rico. He relocated to Amsterdam about 25 years ago. He spent several years employed by the Scotia-Glenville School District. He married Carmen Vasquez on April 15, 1995. Jose was a very active person. He loved to walk or ride his bike through the mountains in Puerto Rico. He loved to play dominos and loved everything about his Puerto Rican heritage and culture. He will be fondly remembered as a good man and adoring husband. He will be deeply missed by his family and close friends.

Jose is survived by his sons Edgar and Richard Maldonado; his 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and his sisters, Eva, Miriam, Mirta, Josefina, Marta, Marizol, and Maira.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 13^th, 2019 at 1pm at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. The family will receive visitors from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, June 13^th, 2019 at the funeral home.
