I took two or three classes taught by professor Edelman. It’s hard to remember he talked for so long. But his lectures were always so poignant. So him. Now that I think back on it, he taught me to write. He was in class saying things then I read him in cineaste. But in his word and in print wholly the same dude. That made me realize to fully write as me. To create my own voice. I found a paper I wrote the semester after one with professor Edelman and my new professor she started to put commas then stopped because she was like I can’t understand your grammar I give up with adding red commas then still gave me an A . She called me an idiosyncratic voice. And that was professor Edelman. An idiosyncratic voice. I was encouraged more so by every writing teacher after but, it all started from the realization of he’s the guy who wrote himself always. He was an amazing writer and an amazing man. I’ve missed him for a dozen years. Even worse now he’s really gone. It would be better if the guy you taught to write was a well known novelist but hold on. I got some nonsense in the works. I’m not gonna work it out. But, sounds like Groucho kind of, Professor would approve I think.

My name is Jane Harris - Audrey I am was so sad to learn about Rob - sending you love and hugs. I have not seen Rob for many years we used to work together - such a sweet intelligent man. I was just sitting in my living room just now and for some unknown reason he popped into my head and I googled his name and my heart sank to see he had passed away. A sad day. xoxo
