Obituary of Dorothy Coons

Dorothy Coons of Gloversville, passed away Wednesday morning, May 1, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

 

She was born March 27, 1927 in Gloversville, one of four children to the late George and Lena Hohenforst. She graduated from Gloversville High School and was a glover worker and retired from the glove industry after 42 years.

 

Dorothy loved her family and dogs, cooking, gardening, going on motorcycle rides, family vacations, camping on Peck’s Lake, the NY Yankees and country music.

 

Including her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 72 years, Melvin. She is survived by nieces, nephews and extended family members.

 

As per Dorothy’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services. Burial will take place at a later date at the Ferndale Cemetery alongside her husband Melvin.
