Obituary of Gerald Frank Raym
Mr. Gerald (Jerry) Frank Raym of Inverness, Florida formerly of Canajoharie, NY passed away peacefully Sunday, March 17, 2019 while visiting his son, David Raym in Ft. Pierce, Florida. He was born February 15, 1948 in Amsterdam, NY the son of the late Frank and Virginia Raym.
Jerry was a graduate of Canajoharie High School, Class of 1966. Upon graduation, he attended Ithaca College and Utica College of Syracuse University where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration & Management from Syracuse University. Following graduation in 1970, he enlisted in the United States Air Force for five years. While in Canajoharie, Jerry was a member of the Reformed Church of Canajoharie. Following his military service, Jerry moved to Florida where he worked for the Florida Department of Children & Families as a Social Worker, and State Farm Insurance Company where he worked as a Senior Claim Representative & Storm Volunteer until his retirement.
Survivors include his three sons David Raym of Ft. Pierce, FL; Jerry Raym of Broken Arrow, OK; and Jonathan Raym of Wellsville, Utah; Eight Grandchildren (Kendall, Taylor, Sydney, Andrew, Nathan, Jackson, Emersyn, Sawyer); Two Great Grandchildren ( Charlie & Fitzgerald); Nieces (Michelle, Stefanie & Kimberly); and Nephew, Matthew. He is also survived by his twin brother, Lawrence (Larry) Raym of Spring Hill, Florida.
Funeral services for Jerry will be held on Saturday, April 6th at 11a.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317 with the Rev. Matt Draffen presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday evening, April 5th from 6 until 8p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fort Plain Cemetery.
