Obituary of David F. Lansing
David F. Lansing, 84, of formerly of the Fonda-Fultonville area, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 19, 2019 at the Fulton Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Gloversville.
Born on September 30, 1934 to the late Ernest and Alice (Claney) Lansing, he was a graduate of the Fonda High School and later received his certification as an Electrical Engineer.
David was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Following the war he was employed as an Electrical Engineer for the General Electric Company in Schenectady, NY for over 20 years.
He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of General Electric. He enjoyed spending time as a CB Radio and Ham Operator and watching all sports. He was of the Methodist Faith.
David was married to the former Marion Coons who passed away in 2011. He is survived by his Foster Son, Clifford VanHorne of Gloversville and his sister, June Allen of Tonawanda, NY, nieces, nephews and in-laws. In addition to his parents and wife, David is predeceased by his brother, Robert Lansing of Fonda, NY and nephew, Craig Allen who passed away in 1984.
Funeral services will be held on Monday March 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY with the Rev. Cynthia Leonard presiding. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY with Military Honors. Calling hours will be held on Sunday March 24, 2019 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
