Obituary of Gerald H. Fox, Sr.
Mr. Gerald H. Fox, Sr; age 79, of Fort Plain, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady.
He was born April 28, 1939 in Keck Center, the son of the late William and Georgia Hayes Fox. He was a graduate of Fonda Fultonville Central School and was later employed by Brown's Transportation and Curtis Lumber Company. He operated a small farm in Stone Arabia and last worked as a bus driver for Fort Plain Central School.
Jerry loved country and square dancing and Polka music.
He is survived by his wife, Darla Marshall Fox; three children, Gerald H. Fox, Jr. of Rochester, Crystal Belle Fox of Rochester and Stephanie Battisti (Chris) of Fort Plain; a brother, Oscar Fox of Fort Plain; a sister, Viola Ostrander of Mayfiled; three grandchildren, Bailey Battisti, McKenzie Battisti and Nathen Battisti; a step-granddaughter, Stephanie Perham; two step-great-grandsons, Aiden Ellithorpe and Damien Ortiz; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jerry's "Fat Cat" Shawny also survives.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Frank Fox, Phalen Fox, William Fox, Robert Fox, Stanley Fox, Jane Scott and Ida Frederick. He was also predeceased by three stepsons, Stephen, Peter and Paul Perham.
It was Jerry's request that no services take place.
