Obituary of James W. Romaine

James W. Romaine, age 81 of Gloversville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, March 4, 2019 at Mountain Valley Hospice.

He was born on May 3, 1937 in Gloversville, NY to William and Laura Travis Romaine. James spent most of his life working in many different tanneries in the area.

James enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and always enjoyed family picnics and gathering with friends. He loved to listen to country music, singing, watching older western movies and golf on T.V.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James is survived by his daughters Kathy Henze (Robert) and Terry Tracy (Michael); grandchildren Jami Kadle (Brad), Erin Esler (David), Jeffery Tracy, Jennie Tracy (Ryan Ahrens), Rachel Harrington (Jay) and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Josephine Ward, Laura Dutcher, Walt Romaine (Florence), Ella Smith (Richard Quant), John Romaine, Beverly Romaine, Ethel Meher and Steven Romaine; as well as many nieces and nephews. James is predeceased by his siblings Evelyn Dutcher, Richard Romaine, William Romaine and Robert Romaine.

A Gathering of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.

Cremation was under the direction of Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home.
