Obituary of Alfonsina Conte

Alfonsina Conte, 95, passed away February 23, 2019 with her loving family by her side at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born November 26, 1923 in Alife (CE) Italy, and is the daughter of the late Nicola and Petronilla (Melillo) Zazzarino.

She is survived by her son Vincenzo Conte of Broadalbin, two daughters Anna (Vincenzo) Macchiarelli of Perth, and Rosetta (Mark) Salerno of Perth. 1 sister, 8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Also by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Besides her parents, and her late husband Giovanni Conte, the love of her life, whom she married on December 28, 1944 who passed away April 6, 1987, she is predeceased by her daughter Lina Cassella, her son in law Nicolino Cassella. Her daughter in law Daniella Conte, and also by her granddaughter Antonella Cassella.

During her lifetime she enjoyed spending time with her loving family, and also enjoyed making a meal or baking for them on many occasions.

Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday February 26, 2019 at 11:15 AM at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Rev. Fr. Lawrence J. Decker will be the Celebrant. A Private Burial will take place in the family plot of St. Michael’s Cemetery, Amsterdam, NY.
