So sad to hear; I can remember as a young girl going to the Community Concert at AHS. She definitely instilled a love of music and to be open minded to all types of music, but unfortunately I still can’t sing or play an instrument. My deepest condolences to the family.

Dear Chris & family, Grace and all of "Peg's" family and friends,
I can't even begin to tell you how sad we all are that she is gone. What a beautiful, wonderful person. I will never forget her kindness and how wonderful she was to Eric and Kyle. They learned so much from her and loved her like family. The sadness they feel is indescribable; they just adored and respected her so much. I chuckle when think of every time I called her " Mrs. Lazarou,", she sighed and corrected me with, "Please, please call me "Peg!" I certainly wasn't going to argue with that! I...and my entire family...want to thank you for sharing her with us and the community; what a gift to forever hold in our hearts. She has earned her rest and her wings. We will forever miss her.
Rest in peace, dear Peg; the heavens are a lot brighter these days.

Peg Lazzaro was my very first vocal teacher. She influenced my life in a MAJOR way! I had always loved to sing but never achieved exactly what I wanted
........until Peg took me under her beautiful wings. I was a senior in high school starring in a musical at the time. The vocals were challenging; but Peg taught me SO much that I was able to reach heights I NEVER dreamed attainable. I stayed with her throughout high school and my voice became stronger than even I thought possible. Because of Peg Lazzaro. I was chosen for the lead in several more wonderful musicals, both in high school and college. To this day, my voice is strong because of her.
I will always be indebted to Peg for helping me develop my gift from God. She was and is, my musical angel!

I cherish so many fond memories with Mrs.Lazarou, from years of vocal lessons to years with the Mohawk Valley Youth Chorale to singing Handel's Messiah. She taught me about music and finding my gift of song, but along the way, she taught me countless valuable life lessons that I continue to carry with me throughout life. Her memory will live on, for she has touched so many lives. I would not be the person I am today without Mrs.Lazarou.
