Obituary of Patricia A. Machold

Mrs. Patricia “Pat” A. Machold, formerly of Lepper Rd, passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2019 at 80 years of age.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on September 4, 1938, she was the daughter of Anthony and Ann Huptich and was a 1956 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Pat Huptich was united in holy matrimony to G. Fred Machold on August 22, 1957, following their marriage Pat dedicated her time to her loving husband and children, working as a homemaker. Years later Pat worked as a ward clerk at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital where she remained until her retirement. Pat was a parishioner of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church; she enjoyed reading and playing pinochle with her son Fred.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Ann Huptich, loving husband G. Fred Machold on April 7, 2002, her son Frederick C. Machold on January 14, 2009, as well as her half-sister Gladys Queeney of Amsterdam, NY.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law Cindy Machold of Amsterdam NY son, Jack (Cheryl) Machold of Port Richey FL, daughter Gloria Wessell of Amsterdam NY, brother Frank (Heidi) Huptich of Loudenville NY, half-brother Edward (Joan) Queeney of Gloversville, NY, two grandchildren; Michael Machold and Jennifer Gifford of Amsterdam, and three great grandchildren.  

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday, January 10, 2019  at 10:30 in the morning at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey L’Arche M.S.  as celebrant. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 from 5 o’clock in the evening to 7 o’clock in the evening at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association; 1 Marcus Boulevard #203 Albany, NY 12205.
