Obituary of Charlene Bartman
Mrs. Charlene Bartman, age 88, of Amsterdam, died December 19, 2018 at her home on Widow Susan Road.
She was born December 29, 1929 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Frank and Valentine (Knapik) Pisarczyk. Charlene attended local schools, graduating from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1947. She attended college for a short time before beginning a career at General Electric Company as a Secretary and Security Clerk, where she worked for 39 years, retiring in January of 1993. Charlene was united in holy matrimony to Stanley J. Bartman on April 24, 1954, they remained lovingly married until his passing in November of 1998.
A devout member of the Roman Catholic faith, Charlene was a Parishioner and Eucharistic Minister, as well as a member of the Rosary Society at Saint Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman, NY. She enjoyed the company of her many friends and family, a member of both the Perth Seniors as well as the Hagaman Seniors, Charlene loved spending time with others, cooking, baking, and gardening.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, and beloved husband Stanley, as well as her three brothers; Alexander, Edwin and Kenneth Pisarczyk.
She is survived by her sons; Paul F. (Geraldine) Bartman of Fredericksburg VA, and Michael A. (Jody) Bartman of Quechee VT, as well as her grandchildren; Matthew, Katerina, Adam and Samantha, and six great grandchildren. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at nine o'clock on the morning of December 29th, 2018 at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church 50-52 Cornell Street in Amsterdam with Reverend Father Robert O. DeMartinis officiating. Internment will take place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery following services.
