Obituary of David A. Conrad
David A. Conrad, 68, passed away with his loving daughters by his side on December 13, 2018. He was born in Amsterdam on May 23, 1950, and is the son of the late William, and Doris (Greene) Conrad
He is survived by two daughters Julie (Christopher) Fenton of Amsterdam, and Jaime (Robert) Morin of Broadalbin, with their mother, Barbara. A brother Lorin Conrad of Arizona, and five grandchildren, Avery, Shelby, Riley, Jake, and Marley.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Sunday December 16, 2018 from 1 to 3 PM with a funeral service at the funeral home at 3 PM with Pastor Dennis Burke. A private burial will take place at later date in the family plot of the Fairview Cemetery.
During his lifetime David was a member of the NRA (Life member, ILA, Golden Eagles, 2nd Amendment Task Force, Certified Firearms Instructor, Certified Range Safety Officer); Gun Owners of America; United States Concealed Carry Association, 2nd Amendment Foundation; NYS Pistol, Rifle Association; American Self-Defense Institute; 2nd Amendment March; IAFF Alumni; Amsterdam Permanent Firefighters Association. Also a Master Mason: Amsterdam Masonic Lodge 84, Sigma Bodies AASR Valley of Schenectady, and 32degree Scottish Rite Maser Mason. A member of the Pine tree Rifle Club, Tribes Hill Fish and Game Club, Swimming Instructor for the YMCA. Assistant Pool Director, and Lifeguard for the Amsterdam City Pools. A member of the Boy Scouts Troop 25 St. Luke’s Church, Member of the Order of Arrow, member of the Recovery Team, and he owned Conex Pest Control, and worked for the Amsterdam Fire Department for over 30 years. Among David’s many accomplishments, he was most proud of his daughters, and their families.
