Obituary of Susan Jean Kelly
Susan Jean Kelly, 60, of Amsterdam, passed away on Friday November 16, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam with her loving family at her side. Born in Amsterdam, NY on March 8, 1958, daughter of the late Joseph T. and Donna A. Squillace Kelly. She was a lifelong area resident and was a 1976 graduate of Amsterdam High School.
Susan went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and her Master’s Degree in Special Education from the College of St. Rose in Albany.
She worked for over 25 years for the Greater Amsterdam School District as a Speech Therapist, at Marie Curie Institute, and most recently the William B. Tecler Elementary School.
Sue meant the world to her family and friends, her students and co-workers, and they meant the same to her. She enjoyed the best of friends who cared for one another and supported each other with laughter and fun. Susan had a strong and beautiful nature that she shared with all, and passed along to her children. Wherever she went, Sue filled the room with the warm energy that she carried. A great storyteller, a wonderful companion and loyal friend, she could make you laugh no matter the situation. Those who loved her most believed all these redeeming qualities also made her the luckiest slot player they knew.
Survivors include her children, Jennifer L. Cinquanti of Gansevoort, NY, Daniel M. Kelly Jr. of Saratoga, NY and Jordyn A. Kelly of Amsterdam, NY. Cherished grandchildren, Mianna, Francesca and Vincent Cinquanti of Gansevoort, NY. Sister, Alison (Robert) Davies of Slingerlands, NY, Brother, Joseph T. (Joanne) Kelly III of New Hartford, NY.
