Obituary of Frances Saulinskas

Frances Saulinskas, age 101, of Amsterdam, N.Y., passed away November 8, 2018, with her loving family by her side.  She was born in Oswego, N.Y., on February 15, 1917, and was the daughter of the late Stanislaus and Sophia (Niejadlik) Czerff. 

She moved to Amsterdam as a young girl, residing there ever since.  She worked at Coleco Industries for many years, retiring in 1986.  Frances was known for gardening and her sense of humor and love of candy, especially M&Ms.

Frances was united in marriage in 1941 to Julius Saulinskas, who passed away in 1965.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Theodore Czerff, and her two sisters, Helen E. Jankunas and Jane C. Bartosek.

She is survived by her daughter Elaine (Howard Dewald) Saulinskas of Ohio, grandson Andrew Dewald of Ohio, and by nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, from 10 to 11:15 a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.  An 11:15 a.m. service will take place at the funeral home with Rev. Jeffrey M. L’Arche officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Casimir’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Frances’s memory may be made to the Sarah Jane Sanford Home, 69 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or a charity of choice.
