Obituary of Everett E. Hazzard, Sr.

Mr. Everett E. Hazzard, Sr., 89, of Flat Creek, New York died peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown. 

A lifelong area resident, Everett was born on February 12, 1929 he was the son of the late Garfield and Margaret Vosburgh Hazzard and attended local schools.  He served proudly in the Korean Conflict with the United States Army.  Everett worked for a time for the Village of Fultonville and later the White Mop Wringer Company for many years until his retirement.  He was a member of the VFW, the Boiling Pot Eagles and Village of Fultonville Volunteer Fire Department.

He was predeceased by his wife Julia A. Wilson Hazzard; and a son, Everett Hazzard Jr.; and all of his siblings.

Survivors include his daughters, Jeanine (Terry) Dygert, Christine Hazzard; his sons, Edward (Nancy) Hazzard, Daniel (Chandra) Hazzard and Shawn (Rose) Hazzard; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11 o’clock at the Canajoharie Falls Cemetery, , Canajoharie, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
