Stephen Bochicchio posted a condolence

Hi,
My name is Stephen Bochicchio and my wife is Rhonda Hayter. It saddens us so to see that Kathryn has passed.
We worked with Kathryn oh so many years ago at Columbus, in NYC. They were fantastic times. Rhonda came across Kathryn's memoir recently and purchased it. It was so much fun for us to walk down memory lane with Kathryn through her book. So we decided to reach out and then learned of her passing. She was a force.
In the book someone described Kathryn as nothing like an onion, what you see is what you get. We loved her forward no nonsense way about her. She had her guests wrapped around her little finger, from the celebrities to the mafia.
Our deepest condolences.
Stephen and Rhonda

I believe Kathy was my roommate at IU during the first semester of our freshman year. We lived in Read Dorm, Landes 5. Can anybody reading this confirm this is the cute gal I was blessed to know by happenstance way back in 1978? If so, I must say although I have thought of Kathy many times over the years, it was just this weekend I have been thinking even more about her and thought to look her up on FaceBook in hopes she had a page. This is where I found out of her passing.
My condolences to the family.

I read Kathryn's column every Sunday and enjoyed it very much. You could see the world through her eyes, so many different experiences. She spoke her mind and was true to her being. What a life she had, traveling across this country doing what she loved. She was a courageous person never letting life get her down. I will miss you Kathryn. What a wonderful way to wake up Sunday morning. Your legacy will continue through the eyes of Richard and his beautiful pictures. RIP

Kathryn worked with ArtReach Touring Theatre during the 1982-83 Season. She was terrific in The Mark Twain Show, Blue Horses and Hansel and Gretel. She had a vibrant personality and a wicked sense of humor. She kept us laughing all year.
Those of us who knew her had little doubt that she would make it in Hollywood. She had everything: brains, talent, beauty and courage. It was saddening to hear of her illness and withdrawal from that pursuit.
But Kathryn put her courage to good use in her battle with MS always keeping an upbeat outlook and putting her efforts into writing her newspaper column. Her brilliant life was over much too soon. She loved the Adirondack countryside where the leaves are falling now, reminding us how quickly go the cycles of this world.
My condolences to Richard, her family all the friends who loved her.

So very sad to hear of my dear friend, Kathryn's passing. She was a brave and courageous woman. Her positive attitude in all things was inspiring. I loved visiting her at her home in Caroga Lake. We shared a love for the area, as I grew up there in the summer at my family's camp. We also shared the challenges of living with a disability.
She will be completely and whole heartedly missed.
Rest now in peace, Kathryn.

Kathryn was such a bright light. I believe I met her 20+ years ago as she lived near our camp and Richard was friends with my Mother in their childhood at Caroga. Kathryn was the only person I know who had MS and was there for me the I was diagnosed.
One of my fondest memories of her was when she, Richard and Richard's daughter drove to CA and stayed with us. I remember driving with Kathryn listening to George Michael's Cowboys and Angels which we both enjoyed. It was a wonderful moment with her.
She overcame incredible challenges and could always be found with a smile on her face and a witty remark. She was unapologetically herself. I have not been back to Caroga in many years and so enjoyed her articles and the photos of Richard of the scenery.
She is free of the awful disease that challenged her but was never stronger than her will. My condolences to your family.
Ricky

My Heart and Prayers go out to you, Richard and the Family, with my deepest condolences. I only had the pleasure of meeting Kathryn one time at the '66 lunch you hosted. She was fun to talk to and very inspiring. I have read several of her "Kathryn's Corners" She sounds like she had a very exciting life in her younger years. May God help you through this most difficult time. May God Bless you all. Toni Gattie.
