Obituary of Marilyn A. Tallman
Marilyn A. Tallman of Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2018. Born on December 19, 1927 in Amsterdam she was the daughter of the late Orville and Hazel Grimshaw Terwilleger.
A lifelong area resident, she attended local schools and was a 1946 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. For over 20 years she was employed as a teacher’s aide for the Greater Amsterdam School District. She was a member of the former Trinity Reformed Church.
On January 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Schuyler E. Tallman. That union spanned 63 wonderful years until his passing on April 13, 2011. She was also predeceased by her siblings George (Eve) Terwilleger and Dorothy Smith.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda and her husband Denis O'Brien of Ballston Spa, Gail Tallman and her husband Seth Weissman of Greenfield Center, and Karen and her husband Chad Ahr of Amsterdam; grandchildren, Adam Stanton of Atlanta, GA, Katya and Ariel Ahr; step grandchildren Sarah (David) Misserian of CA, Jennifer O'Brien of New Hampshire, Sandra (Michael) Spoerner of New Mexico, Julie Barbeau-Weissman and her husband, Andrés Pizzorno of Lyon, France, and Alex Barbeau-Weissman and his wife, Julie Laflamme of Quebec City, Canada, as well as Sarah and Tim Swaisgood of Ohio, Chad and Angie Ahr of Colonie and Kelly and Andre Lescault of Corinth; eleven step great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews; cousin and best friend, Judy Frederick.
Our mother had a great sense of humor and loved a good story about people's lives and adventures. She was especially proud of being a devoted grandmother to Adam, Katya and Ariel, who loved being with her.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will take place at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
