Obituary of Arthur Vertucci

Arthur Vertucci, 90, of Ft. Johnson passed away September 29, 2018 with his loving family by his side. He was born June 06, 1928 in Ft. Johnson, NY; and is the son of the late Pasquale and Josephine (DeRose) Vertucci.

He is survived by his loving wife whom he married on July 18, 1948 Bernadette (LaFond) Vertucci of Ft. Johnson, also by his son Gary Vertucci of Ft. Johnson, Two daughters Bernadette Dalmata of Greensboro, NC, and Kathleen Motyl of Ft. Johnson.   Many nieces, nephews, eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Arthur is predeceased by his siblings Marge, Katherine, Lena, Jane, Susan, Marion, Gabe, Anthony, Eleanor, Vera, and Alfred.

During his lifetime Arthur was a member of St. Mary’s Church, and he proudly served our country during WW II in the U.S. Navy.  He worked for Niagara Mohawk, Mohasco, General Electric, and Mohawk Carpet,  Arthur also owned his own Contracting business Arthur’s Contracting.  From 1957 to 1990 he worked for Gabriel Contracting alongside his two brothers Gabriel, and Anthony.  In his spare time he enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Golf, OTB, and he was a member of Post 701.

Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Thursday October 4, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday October 5, 2018 at the Historic St. Mary’s Church, 156 E Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. With Fr. Jeffrey M. L’ Arche the Celebrant, and a burial in the family plot of the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ft. Johnson will follow
