Obituary of Jennifer Ann Flood
Mrs. Jennifer Ann Flood, age 56, of Galway, passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 21, 2018 at her home in Galway after a lengthy illness.
She was born August 13, 1962 in Roosevelt, Long Island, the daughter of Harry and Charlotte (Smith) Bermas. She graduated from Galway School District and Spencer Business and Technical Institute. She was employed by Ward Products of Amsterdam.
Jen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Prior to her illness she was an avid fitness enthusiast. She enjoyed spending time laying in the sun and visiting the ocean. She enjoyed photography and had an extensive collection of photos. She was also a published poet. She enjoyed music and could often be heard singing along. She was a passionate gardener, a trait she inherited from her beloved Grandmother, Edna. Most notably, Jen was a lifelong lover of cats.
Jennifer is survived by her husband James B. Flood, her father Harry Bermas II (Donna), her mother Charlotte (Smith) Bermas, four daughters; Rachel Sobkowicz, Jessica Sweet (Robert), Amanda Flood, and Brittany Ferjanec (Chad), brother Harry Bermas III (Leslie), a sister Susan Sowle (Richard), brother Christopher Fitzpatrick (Shantel), five grandsons; Aiden, Noah, Ollie, Garret, and Lorenzo, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
She was predeceased by a daughter Rebecca Flood.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4pm-7 pm, Tuesday, September 25, at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville, NY 12078.
A Funeral Service will take place Wednesday, September 26 at 10am, at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Oliver officiating.
Interment will take place immediately following the funeral home services at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield.
Memorial contribution may be made in lieu of flowers to a Humane Society of your choice.
