Obituary of Jeffrey L. Circe

Mr. Jeffrey L. Circe of Lakeland, a retired science teacher at Kathleen , Lakeland Highlands and Mulberry Middle Schools passed away on September 11, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida. He was 71 years old.
He was the only son born to Lester E. & Bernice J. (Grum) Circe. Born in Amsterdam, New York, he moved to Florida with his family in 1980, after living and teaching school in Massachusetts for 10 years.
Mr. Circe dedicated his life to serve and improve the youth of our community. He sponsored many clubs including juggling and recycling. In 2009 he retired after teaching a total of 39 years. He received an A.S. degree from F-MCC; a B.S. degree from SUNY @ Brockport, N.Y.; and a M.S.T. from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Ma. In addition to his teaching career, he was also a deputy sheriff in N.Y., a Boy Scout Master, a first aid instructor with the American Red Cross, a professional bowler (PBA), a teacher for AJBC, a licensed/registered antique dealer, and a licensed Realtor.
In 1986 he joined the Board of Directors of MIDFLORIDA Federal Credit Union, retiring in 2006. He was a Catholic, @ St. John Neumann Church, in Lakeland.
Mr. Circe is survived by his son Brett and his wife Jonna of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., his granddaughters Jeannette and Breanna Circe, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday September 17, 2018, from 10:30-11:00 A.M. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, and a Funeral Mass to follow at 11 A.M. in Florida.

A Graveside Service is planned for Saturday September 22, 2018 at 12 noon at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Upper Steadwell Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
