Obituary of Marion L. Frederick
Marion L. Frederick, 97, of Perth passed away with her loving family by her side on September 9, 2018. She was born in Gloversville on May 14, 1921, and is the daughter of the late William and Emma (Leverenz) Aldrich.
She is survived by three sons, Douglas (Barbara) Frederick of Perth, NY; Linden (Heather) Frederick of Belfast, ME; Dean (Darlene) Frederick of Dearborn MI, and three daughters Judith (Gary) Roseboom of Peoria IL; Diane (Steven) Landsman of Evanston, IL; and Amy (Dean) Roos of Willow Grove, PA. Also by 13 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents Marion is predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Raymond Frederick, whom she married on August 3, 1946, and who passed away on July 25, 2008, and by two sisters, Evelyn and Jean.
A woman of abiding and abundant faith, Marion graduated from Columbia (SC) Bible College, served as a missionary in Cuba prior to her marriage, and was a steadfast and active member of Perth Bible Church for more than 70 years. She also was a woman of great humor, energy, and strength. She kept her scattered family close with her chatty weekly letters (carbon copies to all in the early years), eventually switching to sending emails in her 80s. Each note was treasured, but especially those containing one of her famously funny “grammyisms” or creative clichés. While raising her large family, Marion also worked for years as the Guidance Office secretary at Perth Central School, and many former students will remember her for her cheerful smile, common-sense advice, and genuine interest in their success. She will be missed by so many people whose lives she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 on Saturday September 15, 2018, from 10 to 11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Perth Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions in Marion’s name may be made to Rural Home Missionary Association, P.O. Box 300, Morton, IL 61550.
