Obituary of Ann Picciocca
Mrs. Ann Picciocca, 93, formerly of Division Street, Amsterdam died peacefully on August 15, 2018. Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 29, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Vito and Nancy Mautone Montuoro.
A lifelong area resident, Ann attended local schools and was a homemaker. A devout Catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church. She was involved in several different organizations and was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Purple Heart. She also enjoyed traveling, sewing and baking. Her greatest joy was her family, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
On October 20, 1946 she was united in marriage to John Picciocca. That union ended on September 4, 2000 following 54 blessed years. She was also predeceased by a son, Paul Michael; and two siblings, Joseph Montuoro and Yolanda Greene.
Survivors include three children, Peter Picciocca and his wife Sheila of Delray Beach, FL, Angela Ford and her husband Dennis of Buffalo, NY, and Nancy Mangona and her husband John of Saratoga, NY; one sister, Gilda Constantine and her husband Joseph of Amsterdam, NY; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Picciocca, John (Taryn) Ford, Sarah (Joseph) Battiste, James (Katherine) Ford, Melissa (Jonathan) Jones, Matthew (Jessica) Mangona, Rebecca Mangona, Erinn Mangona; ten great grandchildren, Morgan, Isabella, Angelina, Christina, Vivienne, John, Kirstene, Emma, Reya, and Stella; several, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, August 20, 2018, at 9:15a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John Street, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Pascal “Pat” Iannotti as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018, from 2 until 5p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.
