Obituary of Donald H. Argersinger Sr.

  Mr. Donald  H. Argersinger, Sr.  70 , of Amsterdam ,   passed away August 14, 2018  at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY with his loving family at his side.

  Born on  November 12, 1947 in Amsterdam , New York the son of the late Harry C. and Audrey H. Childs Argersinger.  He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1965 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. 

   Don was employed for many years as a mechanic at Adirondack Knitting Mills.  He also was a Deputy Sheriff for the Montgomery County Sheriff's Department for over 20 years.  Mr. Argersinger was a  hardworking and dedicated husband and father.  He served as Deacon at the Calvary Reformed Church in Hagaman, NY.  He was very involved in his children's and most recently grandchildren's sports and extracurricular activities.   He had a pure heart and would always give of himself to others.  He made everyone feel loved that he came in contact with.

    Mr. Argersinger is survived by his wife of 50 years Melynda Wert Argersinger,  The recently celbrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary and renewed their wedding vows on May 25.  In addition to his loving wife survivors include his two daughters, Michele and (David) Dulczewski of Westford, MA.  and Marcia and Erik Krug of Canajoharie, NY.  One brother, David Argersinger of Hagaman.  One sister, Diane Gutowski also of Hagaman, NY. 

Five cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Justin and Kate Dulczewski and Mollie and Jack Krug.  Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends also survive.

  Don was predeceased by his beloved son, Donald H. Argersiner Jr.  on July 25, 2000.  He was also predeceased by a brother Gerald W. Argersinger and a sister, Beverly Ford. 

     Funeral services will be held on Friday August 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Betz,  Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Pastor Stanley Craig presiding.  The family will receive relatives  and friends on Thursday August 16, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00PM at the funeral home.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Reformed Church (Improvement Fund), 15 Church St. Hagaman, NY 12086.
