Obituary of Lillie L. Novak

Lillie L. Novak age 92, of Amsterdam, NY passed away July 24, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Austin Texas on May 31, 1926.

She is survived by a daughter Irene (Kevin, Sr.) Barkley, Seven grandchildren Belinda (Omar) Curiel, Melissa (Rene) Ortega, Ray (Cindi) Salinas, Roy (Grace) Salinas, Edward (Fran) Vargas, Jessica Vargas, and Joel (Adrianna) Salinas. She is also survived by several step grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, and her husband Kurt M. Novak who passed away on May 25, 2015, and also her first husband Ramon Salinas Sr., she is predeceased by four sons Ramon Salinas Jr. in 2013, Felix Salinas in 1981, Joel Salinas in 1969, and Rogelio Salinas in 1963.  A sister Velia, a brother John, and a grandson Felix Salinas Jr.

During her lifetime she loved to sew as a seamstress for Pilgrim Cleaners in Houston Texas, read, and loved animals of all kinds. She loved to bowl and also bowl in a lot of tournaments where she won many trophies.  She actually managed a bowling alley with her husband in Texas. She also enjoyed playing golf. She moved from LaPorte Texas to Amsterdam in 2001 to be with her loving family. She was also a very devoted Houston Astro’s fan.

Relatives and Friends are invited to call at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY  12010 on Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM with a service at the funeral home at 11:30 AM, and a burial to follow at 2 PM at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
