Obituary of Andrew A. Fountain

Andrew A. "Sonny" Fountain, age 68, of Johnstown, passed away Thursday morning, July 12, 2018 at his home in Johnstown, NY.

 

He was born July 5, 1950 in Gloversville, the son of the late Andrew and Pearl Eschler Fountain. He was employed by Lexington Center for the most part of his later years. Andy enjoyed many things but mostly spending time with his family and the people he loved. He liked to watch wrestling and go see it live. His favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees and liked to go to see them play at Yankee Stadium. But Andy’s favorite thing to do was to scratch lottery tickets and he was very lucky at that.

 

Andy had a heart of gold and he was always trying to make someone happy. He had an unforgettable laugh and a smile that could brighten up a room.

 

Andy is survived by four sisters, Linda Gunnison, Judy Hayes, Diane Zukas and Charlene Swart; two brothers, Anthony Eschler and Timothy Fountain; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew A. Fountain and Pearl M. DaCorsi; as well as a sister, Donna Fountain.

 

Andy left behind his very loving feline companion Olivia, who spent most of her days cuddled up on his chest and was by his side in his final days.

 

A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating.

Andy’s family would like to give a special thanks to his Lexington Family for the love and support that they gave him throughout his stay with them, especially the staff at 62 Chestnut Street in his final few weeks. We do not know what we would have done without them all. There are not enough words to express our gratitude. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
