Obituary of Linda A. Luciano

Mrs. Linda A. Luciano, 67, of Shirley Street, Tribes Hill died unexpectedly after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital with family by her side.  Born in Amsterdam, NY on November 17, 1950 she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Saulinskas.

A lifelong area resident, Linda attended local schools and was a 1968 graduate of Fonda- Fultonville.  Linda was first employed at the glove factories in Amsterdam and later Archer Mail Service in Schenectady for many years until her retirement. 

On May 15, 1971 she married the love of her life, John P. Luciano Jr.  That union lasted over 43 years, and sadly ended on February 15, 2014 with his passing. 

Linda was an active member of TOPS 0911 Amsterdam Chapter serving as co-leader and treasurer.  In 2010 she won “Queen of TOPS NYS” and in 2011 was awarded “Century Winner” for maintaining a 100 pound weight loss.  She was also a Kaptain of the KOPS Honor Society.   Her and her late husband John also became Mr. and Mrs. TOPS of NYS.  Linda was also a member of the Mt. Carmel Women’s Bocce League.

One of her greatest joys in life was being a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Mimi.  She was dedicated to her family and took great pride in all of their accomplishments.  Linda was an inspiration to anyone she met and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her two sons, Benjamin J. Luciano and his wife Suellen of VA Beach, VA and Anthony D. Luciano and his wife Jaime of Gloversville, NY; five cherished grandchildren, Claire, Reid, Alexa, Emme Grace and Reese “Buggy.”

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12p.m. at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam.  A calling period will be held prior to the service beginning at 10a.m. at the funeral home.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend.  Inurnment will take place in the family plot at St. Casimir’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org Please visit the online memorial at www.brbsfuneral.com
