Obituary of Kenneth G. Capece
Mr. Kenneth G. Capece, 78, of Ridge Road, Canajoharie, NY died peacefully on June 30, 2018 with is family by his side. Born in St. Johnsville, New York on July 22, 1939 he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose (George) Capece Sr.
A lifelong area resident, Ken attended schools in St. Johnsville. He owned and operated the Little Falls- Fonda Bus Corp. along with his family for many years. Ken was also employed by the Fort Plain School District for several years working in the Transportation Department, until his retirement.
Ken was an avid antique collector and enjoyed restoring bicycles and anything vintage. He was especially proud of his 1962 Studebaker, which he drove with pride. A perfectionist, his home was meticulously cared for and he always enjoyed a spirited conversation about politics. Ken was also an avid Yankee fan and will be remembered for his “I did it my way” motto.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Inge Deeg Capece; his three sons, Craig Capece of Troy, MI, Cary Capece and Vinny Capece, both of Austin, TX; five grandchildren, Craig, Christian, Ashley, Mitchel and Britney; two sisters, Margaret Sternisha and Pamela Ouellette; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph “Sonny” Capece, Jr.
A Graveside Service of Remembrance will take place on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11a.m. at the Village of St. Johnsville Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to American Legion, Morris J. Edwards Post 168, 38 W. Main St., St. Johnsville, NY 13452
