Obituary of Iris Wainwright Voigt

Iris Wainwright Voigt, 78, of Vail Mills, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 7th, 2018.

Born on February 27th, 1940 in Amsterdam, NY, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Lois (Buckley) Griffiths.  Iris enjoyed artwork. She loved to draw and even taught art to children for several years. She enjoyed attending operas and plays. Growing up she enjoyed tap dancing, singing, and ballet. During her college years she took up flight lesson and learned how to fly a plane.

Iris is survived by her son Maximus D. Pesce; three grandchildren, Maximus R.D, Arianna, and Sophia; and her grandson Robert Litchfield. She is predeceased by her parents; her brother David Griffiths; her first husband Daniel Pesce; and her second husband Walter Voigt.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 15th, 2018 at 12pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 417 Steele Ave. Ext., Gloversville, NY 12078. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to the family to help offset unexpected expenses incurred. Checks may be made payable to: Maximus Pesce, 897 Co. HWY. 106, Amsterdam, NY  12010.
