Obituary of Loretta C. Charsky

Loretta C. Charsky, age 82, of Gloversville, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at her home in Gloversville, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 28, 1935 in Johnstown, the daughter of Thomas "Frank" and Leona Sanders Charsky. She was employed as a seamstress for many years by Johnstown Knitting Mill.

Loretta enjoyed fishing, playing cards and cooking. She was an avid shopper of Pioneer Woman collectibles. Most of all, she loved traveling, camping and spending time with her family and dog Ladibel.

Survivors include her companion of many years,  Bill Thompson; four children, Nicholas Passero of Johnstown, Peggy Lee  Frasier of Ephratah, Deborah A. Bushnoe of Gloversville and Francine D. Passero of Broadalbin; three step-children, Ruth Page (Louie), Sherri Babcock and Lawrence Thompson (Liz); three sisters, Dawn M. Guiffre (Frank) of Bleecker, Leona M. Cizek of Riverdale, MD and Veronica A. Charsky of Bowie, MD; an aunt, Olga Charsky Bell of MD; 11 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Loretta was predeceased by her parents; a son, Samuel F. Passero, whose wife Pat survives; a daughter, Susan M. Passero and a sister, Faye B. Passino (Chuck).

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St, Gloversville where a Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 8 with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating.

Interment will follow at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown.
