Obituary of Vincent F. Rossi
Embraced within his family’s love, Vince, received the ultimate gift of life everlasting on June 1, 2018. Born in 1934 in Amsterdam, he was the son of the late Frances and Clarence Stover and Joseph “the barber” Rossi.
He proudly served his country and later was employed for 50 years with Mohawk Candy and Tobacco and loved to garden and cut wood and was the supreme METS fan which he passed that fervor onto his girls. He also enjoyed fishing on a lazy afternoon. His legacy is simple in that he lived an honest life. He was a good man.
Those in mourning are his wife of 58 years, Ruth; his daughters, Alisa (Paul) Rossi- Patterson and Janine (David) Rossi-McQuade; his brother, Joseph (Loretta) Rossi; his favorite brother in law, Richard Lasky; nieces and nephews.
The Rossi Family also reflects and acknowledges the life of David Bielawa, a dear friend of Vince who passed away suddenly on June 4, 2018.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 8th, 2018 at 3pm at the Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with Rev. Lawrence Decker presiding. Burial will immediately follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Cornell Street, Amsterdam. The family will receive visitors from 2 until 3p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. We ask in Vince’s memory that donations be made to your local community hospice organization. Please visit the online memorial at www.brbsfuneral.com
