Obituary of Suzanne B. Peck

Suzanne B.  Peck, age 89, of Canada Lake, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville. 

 

She was born January 21, 1929 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Lemoyne and Blanche Carpenter Breese. Sue was a Bennet High school and Endicott college graduate.  She worked side by side with her husband at the family business, Peck's Flowers of Gloversville.

 

Sue was married to her loving husband William R. Peck in 1949 and was married for 64 years until his death in 2013. They raised their family in Gloversville, spending summers at Canada Lake and winters at Big Pine Key, Florida.

 

She was an amazing mother to five children, Katherine Peck (Charlie) of Gloversville, Irene Hess of Loveland, CO, Robert Peck (Sally) of Northville, Margaret Smith (Ray) of Ballston Lake and Elizabeth Oathout (David) of Canada Lake.  Sue was very proud of her nine beautiful grandchildren and nine wonderful great-grandchildren.

 

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Margaret (Peggy) Castle and her precious dog Molly.

 

Sue enjoyed summers at the lake, an afternoon of bridge playing, a good golf game and especially watching the NY Mets. She was their biggest fan since 1962. She was a volunteer for the women’s auxiliary for Nathan Littauer Hospital for many years.

 

A private service and celebration of Suzanne’s life will take place at the discretion of the family at later date. Burial will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.

Memorial contributions may be made to the local Humane Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
