Obituary of Clyde W. Bornt

Mr. Clyde W. Bornt, Jr., 87, of Amsterdam, passed away early Wednesday morning January 17, 2018 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He was born February 7, 1930 in Amsterdam, the son of the late Clyde W. and Ella Davis Bornt Sr. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools. Mr. Bornt was employed as a Bus Driver for many years for the Greater Amsterdam School District. Most people knew him as "Pickels". He will be missed by all. He was married to Blanche Bornt. She passed away several years ago. He is of the Roman Catholic faith and attended St. Stephen's Church in Hagaman. Clyde is survived by a son, David A. Bornt of Amsterdam. Three grandchildren, David R. Bornt of Amsterdam, Erika L. (Dan) Chapin of Johnstown, NY and Jonathan J. (Kelsey) Bornt of Perth. Great-grandchildren, Briana, Julian and Roslyn. One brother, Gerald (Louise) Bornt of Kentucky and nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his favorite pets, Paco and Dooder. Funeral services will be held on Monday January 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY with Fr. O. Robert DeMartinis presiding. Interment will be in Hagaman Mills Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday January 21, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
