Obituary of Walter B. Fort
Walter B. Fort, Jr., 81, of Gloversville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
Born April 2, 1934 in Middlefield, NY, he was the son of the late Walter B. Sr. and Helen Layman Fort.
Walter proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He worked as a Welder at Taylor Made in Gloversville for over 37 years until his retirement. Walter was a member of the East Worcester Fish and Game Club and of the Johnstown United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son Christopher B. Fort of Gloversville; daughter Marlynjane I. Voght (Thomas) of Johnstown; Sister Annie Joyce Pogorzelski of Delanson; grandchildren Thomas Voght, Jr. (Mandi) and Jenna O'Hara; great grandchildren Serenity, Elijah and Bentlee and his cat companion George. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Walter is predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years Eleanor M. Crowter Fort; brother Boyd Layman Fort and Sister Alice Jean Dauley.
Services to celebrate Walter's life will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016 12:00 P.M. at the family home on 398 County Highway 122 Gloversville, NY 12078.
