Obituary of John A. Iannotti
Mr. John A. Iannotti Sr., 69, formerly of Erie Terrace, passed away peacefully Saturday evening at Montgomery Meadows.
Born in Amsterdam on January 1, 1936 he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Riano Iannotti. He was a lifelong area resident and attended local schools.
Mr. Iannotti worked for Boss- Linco of Amsterdam as a truck driver for over 30 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary?s R. C. Church. He was also a member of the Air National Guard, stationed in Amsterdam as well as the South Side Veteran?s. He was an avid Bocce player and was a master photographer. He loved his garden and liked to hunt. Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Iannotti was predeceased by four sisters; Edith, Rose, Madeline, Lucy and three brothers; Ralph, Joe, and Louis.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Helen Woodruff whom he married on October 1st, 1955; one son, John A. Iannotti Jr.; one daughter Kelly Bennett and her husband Mark; two brothers, Andy and Tony Iannotti; seven grandchildren, Mikayla, Michael, Robbie, Amber, Samantha, Grace, Fayln, all of Amsterdam; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10:45a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30a.m. at St. Mary?s R.C. Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti as celebrant. Interment will take place in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 4 until 7 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211 or to St. Mary?s Church Memorial Fund, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
