Obituary of Olive M. Pyne

Mrs. Olive Moyer Pyne, age 89 of the Hamlet of Meco, NY, died Saturday, November 26, 2005 at Wells Nursing Home, Johnstown, NY. She lived most of her married life in Meco. She was born December 9, 1915 in the Town of Johnstown, the daughter of the late Alfred and Julia Warren Moyer. Olive was a 1935 graduate of Johnstown High School. She was a former member of the Johnstown Grange and the Drill Team in Johnstown. She was a member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church of Gloversville, and was an organizer of the Meco Fire Department Auxiliary. Olive was married on April 29, 1938 to William Nelson Pyne by the late Rev. Raymond A. Ketchlidge. Mr. Pyne died on September 8, 1982. She is survived by two children, Dolores A. Stahl Richard and Delbert J. ?Butch? Pyne Claudia both of Johnstown; a sister, Marion Downer of Gloversville; a brother, Howard A. Moyer of Johnstown; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Madolyn Colson, Dorothy Smith and Katherine Coonley; and a grandson, Jeremy Stahl. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM Monday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St.; Gloversville, where a funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday with the Rev. Christopher Hamm officiating. Interment will take place at FernDale Cemetery, Johnstown.
