Obituary of Floyd F. Fisher
Mr. Floyd F. Fisher, age 86, of Gloversville, died October 26, 2016 at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville.
He was born November 9, 1929 in Gloversville, the son of William and Anna Arzberger Fisher. He faithfully served his country during the Korean War in the US Army in Japan. He was later employed by Babcock Construction of Scotia for several years. Floyd was married to Marion St. Thomas, twin sister of James W. St. Thomas, on June 10, 1954. He then joined the family owned and operated St. Thomas Inc. of Gloversville, where he was head of the shipping and receiving department for many years until his retirement.
Floyd is survived by a stepdaughter, Carol L. Knights of Gloversville; son-in-law, Gary J. Frasier of Gloversville; a brother, Sanford W. "Sam" Fisher of Johnstown; two grandsons: Kenneth M. Simpson (Kate) and Jason G. Frasier (Rebecca); four great-grandchildren: Jillian Simpson, Darren Frasier, Lacy Frasier and Mason Frasier. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was predeceased by his wife, Marion St. Thomas Fisher; his parents; a stepdaughter, Betty L. Frasier; and by two sisters: Ruth Brower and Elizabeth "Pinky" Gagne.
Private visitation and service will take place at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
