Obituary of Jean Bellows Gray
Amsterdam, NY—Jean Bellows Gray, 86, of Woodridge Road, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the River Ridge Living Center with her loving family at her side.
Born September 8, 1930 in Amsterdam, New York she was the daughter of the late Floyd Ellis Bellows and Arlene R. Johnson Bellows. She attended Cranes Hollow and Amsterdam Schools.
Jean was employed as an Assembler at the Inman Manufacturing Company in Amsterdam for 16 years retiring in 1983 due to illness. She was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Jean enjoyed vacations to Wildwood, NJ, and the Saratoga Race Track, family gatherings, knitting, crocheting and loved spending time with her family. Jean always placed others first and always tried to help wherever she could.
On November 12, 1955, she was married to Harold Gray, Jr. were for 56 years until Harold's passing March 17, 2012. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Richardson and Joyce Gillis. Survivors include her son, Ronald H.(Dianne) Gray of Amsterdam; three grandchildren, Jennifer M. (Tony) Willmann, Kevin R. Gray and Danielle E. (Daniel) Jasewicz; four great grandchildren, Arianna A. Gray, Bradley T. and Brandon D. Jasewicz and Caiden A. Willmann all of Amsterdam; her brother, Clifford F. Bellows of Broadalbin; several, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 10:00 AM at the St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 24 Pine Street, Amsterdam, where the Holy Eucharist will be celebrated by the Rev. Dr. John Califano. Interment will take place in the family plot of Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, November 4, 2016, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY.
