To the family of Doris Lockrow--I worked with Doris at the Infirmary for many years. As a matter of fact, we carpooled back during the 80's and I just loved her sense of humor and calming nature. "Dear John" was a favorite saying of hers, but then you probably knew that. She always was after me to become a nurse, and I did just that, many years later.I was proud she knew that.We kept in contact after she retired and often met at the SBC with her & "The Judge". I did not hear of her passing until after the funeral, and regret deeply that Ken & I were unable to pay our respects to her & to all of your family. Know that she will be missed, that my fondest & sweetest memories of her are that of a "grand & dear lady", a very compassionate nurse and a forever friend to me & my family. She was so proud of her family and it truly showed when she spoke of you all. In deepest sympathy, Ken & Jackie Carpenter

Scott and I were awfully sorry to hear of Doris' passing. We both remember her so well from church where she always greeted us with a smile and sincere interest in our lives. What a lovely lady; I'm sure heaven is graced with her presence.

I just wanted to take a moment to send my condolences. My mother Anne Reed is a resident at Pineview Commons. She has the room across the hall from Doris. Your mom was so sweet when my mother first came to Pineview. She welcomed her and checked up on her, making sure she knew when to go to meals, activities etc. My mother can be a very difficult person and Doris made the transition so much easier! I usually poked my head in her room to say hello when I was visiting my mother. She was such a nice lady. I feel sorry for your family to have to lose her on Christmas day. I only hope it wasn't too stressful with grandchildren. Wishing you a peaceful 2006.
