Obituary of Ramon L. Gonzalez

Ramon L. Gonzalez, 63, of Amsterdam NY, has gone to his eternal rest on Wednesday November 2nd, 2016. Born on August 24th, 1953 in Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Bernarda Benitez and Ramon Gonzalez. Ramon attended schools in Puerto Rico and relocated to this area in 2013 with his family. For a couple of years he worked for Durham School Services in Schenectady NY, as a Bus Monitor. Ramon was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed watching boxing matches. He loved playing dominos with his family and close friends. Ramon loved to help others and was very sociable person. He was very caring and friendly and will be remembered most for his genuine and jokester personality. He will be sincerely missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Ramon is survived by his longtime girlfriend Carmen Santiago; the mother of his children Evelyn Lanza; his daughters, Yaritza (Elizabeth Steinberg) Gonzalez, Jenny (Randy Ulloa) Gonzalez, and Michelle Gonzalez; his stepchildren, Ivelisse Torres, Richard Perez, Nancy Alcantara, and Edwin Alcantara; his sisters, Maria Perez, Sonia Gonzalez, Blanca Gonzalez, Porfiria Rivera, Blanca Salena, and Francisca Otero; his brothers, Ciriaco Otero, Rojelio, and Roberto; his grandchildren, Tommy Burgos, Kimberly Dominguez, Jomar Valazquez, Jefferson Dominguez, Brailin Alvarado, Jeraidy Alvarado, and Yarielis Steinberg. Many loving nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Ramon is predeceased by his loving parents. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 7th, 2016 at 12pm at Betz, Rossi, & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Main St., Fort Johnson NY, 12020.
