Obituary of Lillian E. Geiss

Mrs. Lillian E. Geiss, 78, of Cliff Street, Canajoharie passed away at home Tuesday morning with her loving family at her side. Born on July 27, 1927 in Paterson, New Jersey she was the loving daughter of the late Vivian and Lillian Eckert Gray. She moved to the Canajoharie area 19 years ago and was employed as a clerk for NBT Bank in Canajoharie. Mrs. Geiss was an independent, strong-minded woman who was much loved; her ability to love and her generosity were immeasurable. She will be missed by all who knew her. She married Joseph C. Geiss, Sr. on March 27, 1947. That union lasted 29 years until his passing on March 21, 1976. She was also predeceased by a son, Joseph C. Geiss, Jr. Mrs. Geiss is survived by two daughters, Linda O?Connor and her husband Francis and Cherie Rogers and her husband David; six grandchildren, Lynda Costello and her husband Frank, David O?Connor and his wife Diane, Joseph Rogers and his wife Katrina, David Rogers and his wife Sun, James Rogers and Craig Rogers and three great- grandchildren, Gregory, Jane and Stephanie. Relatives and friends are invited and may gather for a celebration of life at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie on Saturday, January 7, 2006 from 1 until 3p.m. Interment will take place at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Paterson, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude?s Children?s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105 or to the Leukemia Society of America, Inc., Upstate New York Chapter, 6 Automation Lane, Albany, New York, 12206 or to the V.F.W. of Ft.
